STORE EXCLUSIVE - A Vintage Look at UP's Riverside Local - DVD
The former Pacific Electric mainline between Redlands and Corona exists only as a stub track serving a pair of industries off Metrolink's Perris Valley Line, but in the not-too-distant past, Union Pacific's Riverside Local served Lehigh Cement and Sigma Stretch with an electric mixture of former Southern Pacific, Rio Grande, and Cotton Belt 4 axle power.
Featuring scenes at the world-famous Wig Wag on S 9th Street, as well as trains along the entire length of the branch, this video is a tribute to the crews of the Riverside Local that dutifully operated the job twice weekly, until progress finally severed the line in 2012. Also featuring a contemporary look at switching action on the remaining trackage from 2021!
The vintage footage was filmed in standard definition, while the footage from 2021 was filmed in HD.
